HOLY COMMUNION ON FRIDAYS

Every Friday there is a celebration of the Eucharist on the Stable Chapel at 12 noon. The service lasts around forty-five minues and has an emphasis on quiet reflective prayer. It also includes a short talk on the day's scripture readings. This is followed by a bring and share lunch for those able to stay. There is no need to book – just turn up. This service happens throughout the year except the last three Fridays in August and Good Friday.

LENT COURSES 2012 will be held as follows:-
Edenham – Monday at 7.30 pm
Regional House – Tuesday at 7.30 pm
Witham-on-the-Hill – Thursday at 7.30 pm

CONFIRMATION

The Parish Confirmation will take place on Sunday 29th April at Witham on the Hill at 10.30am.  If you are interested in preparing to be strengthened in your Christian life through the sacrament of confirmation then please let any of the clergy or Heather know.  Minimum age i s10 years old, maximum is 210!  Preparation will begin before Christmas. Adults and youngsters will meet in separate groups.

LEARN BELL RINGING!
As you will have heard – bells are a vital part of our village soundscape – calling all to worship and sending the praise of God into every nook and corner. If you would like to learn – there will demonstrations at Edenham Garden Fete next week and at the Flower and Heritage Festival.

Or turn up on any Thursday at Edenham 7.30-pm – 9.15pm to be shown the ropes!

is now available from the Vicarage at the cost of £12.50. Cheques to be made payable to Edenham Regional House Bookstall.

THE EVERGREEN CARE TRUST - is looking to develop a small team of VOLUNTEER OFFICE SUPPORT STAFF at their Bourne & Stamford Offices.

Duties to include reception duties, answering the telephone, taking referrals, etc to support the Administrative Team. Those interested would need to commit to regular hours or day each week and should have basic computer and telephone skills. For more information please contact Kevin Vinter on 01780 765900. Link

EDENHAM KNEELERS GROUP has been formed and will meet once a month at the Vicarage and weekly at a members house if wished. For further information contact Rachel on 01476 550609.

THE THREE TOWERS MAGAZINE is now edited by Tom McWilliams.  Contact 01778 590647 or email  lizandtom9@tiscali.co.uk   Deadline for copy is the 10th of the month. After 11 years the Three Towers is to be printed at the Vicarage using a new machine.  This should iron out any difficulties and hopefully fund other publicity and publications.  Anyone who is happy to spend and hour or so stapling and folding please let Father Andy know.

REGIONAL HOUSE PROGRAMME

DAYS OF REFLECTION

Practicalities: all these days being with coffee and registration at 10.00am for a 10.30am Start. The day usually has two sessions before and after lunch which is included and the days draw to a close wtih corporate prayer at 3.30pm after this tea is available (and cake!) with departure by 4.00pm. Often there is worship at midday, on Fridays this is always the Eucharist. We can cater for any special diets if we know in advance. We can also accommodate wheel chair users. There are no set charges – we ask for voluntary contributions which can be gift aided. For all the days the suggested contribution is £12.50. Guests give more or less according to their circustances and inclination. Phone 01778 591358 or email edreghouse@tiscali.co.uk to make a booking.

The house is also available for individuals to use for day or residential use - either catered or self-catered.  Please ask if you would like to know more.

The Friends organisation is organising a ‘fundraiser' to provide the £1000 needed for the stone table which will be the centre piece of the upper garden. Their ‘winter feast' is on Saturday 18 th February from 7.00pm – please contact the house for tickets.

PAINTING AND PRAYER. A return visit from Kate Austen of Christart – who will help participants engage in prayerful reflection through painting. No previous experience necessary. Kate will provide all the materials – suggested contribution for this day is £20 – includes lunch.

BEARING WITNESS. Canon Ian Silk, who is involved in evangelism both in Lincolnshire and nationally, opens up the prayer and teaching of Lincolnshire saints – Guthlac, Hugh, Edward King and others on the command of Christ to proclaim the Gospel to all nations.

June 2012

Saturday 16th June

STOP IN THE NAME OF GOD! This day is Edenham's contribution to a national initiative by the Retreat Association. Members of the Regional House ministry team will offer ‘taster sessions' of different types of prayer.

July 2012

Friday 6th July

ON MIXED LIFE. Canon Andrew Hawes opens up the wisdom of Walter Hinton ( the fourteenth century English spiritual writer) on seeking holiness in an active life of engagement with family, business and community.
